Kakaire is bureau chief for Uganda’s Monitor newspapers in Mbale, in the east of the country.
A radio and print reporter he specialises in humanitarian issues, most recently reporting on the divisive practice of female genital mutilation.
Kakaire is a regular contributor to KFM, Uganda’s ‘most-listened-to’ commercial radio station.
He is currently undertaking an online masters course in communication for development from Sweden's Malmo University.
